Acknowledging CHARM

In accordance with NIH requirements, all publications, presentations, press releases and proposals supported in whole or in part by the Center for HIV and Research in Mental Health (CHARM) and/or its services are required to cite the CHARM grant and comply with NIH Public Access Policy (submission to PubMed Central).

CHARM relies on these citations as a critical performance measure when reporting annual productivity (publications) to NIH. Please bookmark this site for the NIH-approved citation text to be used in your manuscript. 

Provided below is recommended language for use in your publications/presentations/proposals based on the type of support/funding you received from CHARM: 

If your project initially received support from CHARM before April 1, 2023: 

 “The (project/presentation/proposal) was supported by the University of Miami’s Center for HIV and Research in Mental Health (CHARM; P30MH116867, P30MH133399 [National Institute Of Mental Health]). The content is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the National Institutes of Health.” 

If your project did not receive support from CHARM until after April 1, 2023: 

 “The (project/presentation/proposal) was supported by the University of Miami’s Center for HIV and Research in Mental Health (CHARM; P30MH133399 [National Institute Of Mental Health]). The content is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the National Institutes of Health.”
